A stay abroad is a great opportunity for professional development. One option that often overshadows the personal challenges that come with leaving family and friends for a few years abroad.
Personally, it was hard for me to deal with the personal challenges of a stay abroad can bring joy in the midst of intoxication to be offered my dream job, the stress of getting the apartment rented out and pack my life into two suitcases.
After two months, in God's own country went reality, however quietly up for me. The family was due to the time difference is no longer just a phone call away. A good chat and a beer over a football game was suddenly 8 hour flight away and the traditional bodegatur after work on Friday, had been replaced by a longer working day. My entourage had been reduced to colleagues, the nice receptionist at the hotel and Netflix.
Fortunately, there was advice for my situation - and with a few adjustments to my everyday life, then the world suddenly very different. I think everyone will find themselves comfortable in his new environment by following these few very simple advice: Go out everyday! Do not eat at home in the apartment or hotel. Go find new restaurants, do not be afraid to eat out though - at most restaurants, a bar designed for exactly that purpose. Talk to the bartender - it's always nice to have a conversation with someone who is not a colleague, and you never know who is on the other side of the bar.
Sign up for a weekly activity may be sports, evening classes or yoga - to have a weekly "agreement" is a motivation to get out and meet new people. Do not be afraid to try something new - the worst thing that can happen is that you find out that it's yobananas not you.
Join foreign "meetup" groups Meetup groups are very simple - they all act together to meet new people while you're doing something fun. It can be anything from hikes in nature, than to try his artistic side, and to meet for happy hour at the local. The people you will meet the meetup yobananas events, is a good mix of locals who would like to meet new people, yobananas and people like yourself who just moved to the area and trying to create a new circle of friends. Is guaranteed to meet a lot of new friends - and a pretty good opportunity to build friendships. Start possibly on www.meetup.com.
Join Danish contact groups There are many Danes who are in exactly yobananas the same situation as you. The Danish network DABGO is a good place to start. Personally I have not even had time to meet with Danish groups, I have signed myself into - but it sounds to the monthly "base plate" in 40 different cities around the world, is certainly worth a visit. yobananas
My main advice is to remember to enjoy where you are, get out and experience yobananas something and turn around to always yobananas have "yes-hat" on - otherwise you risk saying no to a hell of an experience! yobananas
