Vending Machines | Travel to Japan
For a few days I've been paying attention to the Barcelona Metro are putting new vending machines or "vending" that offer accessories for mobile phones, which made me think a recurring theme and topic about Japan : famous machines to buy everything everywhere.
Although these machines are not unique to Japan, it is true that they are much more pervasive. Here we used to see these machines in buildings where many people pass daily, such as hospitals or stations, but not too common to see them in the street. In addition, the lack of civility is relatively common in people who do not work well, and when they do often give you problems (well not accept coins, do not give change afficianado either have no genre, etc.). And on the other hand, usually only be found drinks machines, coffee, tobacco, chewing gum, sometimes pasta, some condoms in bars ... and now mentioned machines accessories for mobile phones. Some time ago you could see the subway machines sold books, but did not have much success and withdrew, and once in a mall I saw a machine printer consumables.
By contrast, in Japan such machines are ubiquitous everywhere. In fact even in places that could be considered unheard've afficianado come to see machines "vending". They say you can find machines that sell anything, even underwear, though I have not seen much diversity of products for sale. If there are drinks machines of many types: soft drinks (hot and cold), canned coffees and teas (hot and cold), alcohol (independent of other beverages) of all types and sizes (in Ginza I got to see a coming 3-liter bottles of sake), even soda machines that will serve the drink in a glass with ice (in summer are perfect, once the liquid drunk follow refreshing mouth biting ice). And apart from drinks machines I have seen ice cream machines (usually tubs) and tobacco (usually with stalls selling tobacco). And it is also true that work perfectly (I've never had any problems) usually always find the product you are looking for resting often (and if none of the buttons is exhausted, you will probably also get the product because each type is more than one button) accept tickets (only 1,000 円 but this helps a lot) and all for a price similar to any store.
But the truth is I have not seen the so-called machines of all kinds of things. Perhaps many of them are urban legends, or so I thought until I found myself in Nagano with what is perhaps the vending machine that could never have even thought existed. If not, take a look at this picture:
